I would appreciate some suggestions for a chamber choir group at State Ensemble Contest. We need a 2nd piece.

Carolyn -
Not sure what level you are needing or what the first piece is. Most of the pieces on the required music list for large group contest would work for chamber choir. Among my personal favorites for Chamber Choir are: Ubi caritas - Durufle Since by man came death - Handel (Messiah) Treasure - Michael Graham (if you have a cellist) Vivaldi Gloria -- any movement A movement of Brahms Liebeslieder (if you have two pianists) Modern Musik - William Billings Do the first section of the ICDA commisioned piece for this year. (sorry, can't remember the name of it at the moment) Good luck, Bruce Bruce Perry, ICDA Worship in Music R&S Chair |

This group is from the top singers of my Junior and Seniors. However - this is the first serious foray into a'capella and chamber style. I wanted to be sure I was using a piece considered CHAMBER music. I had considered Sing Me to Heaven. The other piece is Rise Up, My Love by Gordon Young. I had a group a two years ago that performed You Are the New Day and Lonely People. It was hard for them and I want to help them stretch but make it attainable.
