ATTENTION ICDA MEMBERS
We are looking for qualified adjudicators for this year\'s Opus Honor Choir.

OPUS HONOR CHOIR GOALS
1. To further the development of 5th-9th Grade choral programs through the learning, auditioning and performing of quality choral literature.
2. To achieve the excellence and pride that develops from singing in an Honor Choir that would ultimately be taken back to the home choir.
3. To offer attending directors the opportunity to observe master conductors in the rehearsal process.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT
Any current ICDA, Inc. member who is an active, retired or life member of American Choral Directors Association may prepare and submit fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade singers that are active in their public and private school choral music programs or church choirs in the state of Iowa. Singers may not be submitted by ACDA student members.

Each member director may nominate up to a total of twelve quality singers per Opus choir. Participating directors are encouraged to have their students audition on a voice part that is appropriate for their vocal range and consider vocal health as a primary concern.

In order to be eligible, all singers submitted for consideration in the Opus Honor Choirs:
-must be part of an established Choral Program.
-must be submitted by an ICDA, Inc. member who is the regular director of the student's participating ensemble.

AUDITION HEADLINES
All audition recordings must be submitted through the website, opusevent.com.
Auditions will be excepted from September 6, 2013 through MIDNIGHT September 25, 2013.

 

The Opus Committee reserves the right to make final determination of singers' eligibility for acceptance in the Opus Honor Choirs.
Failure to adhere to all rules by any submitting director may result in the disqualification of any or all of the director's students submitted for consideration.

Music will be available for purchase at the ICDA Summer Symposium in Mason City.
