R&S SHOW CHOIRS

Eric J. Shepard is the Associate Director of Choral activities at Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa. He directs the Concert Choir, Men’s Choir, co-directs Women’s Concert Choir and Mixed Choir and directs the junior varsity show choir, Synergy. He Directs the All-School Musical in the Spring.
He is an active member of theatre in Des Moines portraying Joseph, in the Des Moines Playhouse’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and many characters in Stage West’s production of Forbidden Broadway. His directing credits include Music Director for the Des Moines Playhouse’s production Cinderella, Music Director for Ragtime- Theodore
Roosevelt High School, Director of Brody Middle School’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr., Co-directing Copacabana & Cats Grand Island, NE. He also serves as part of the education staff at the Des Moines Playhouse.
He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelor's degree in Music Education with an emphasis in vocal music and musical theatre. While at UNL he studied voice and musical theatre under the direction of Alisa Belflower. Mr. Shepard studied conducting under Dr. Peter A. Eklund, Dr. Rhonda Fuelberth, Dr. Therese Hibbard, Keith Curington. Mr. Shepard serves as a the Iowa Choral Directors Show Choir Repertoire and Standards Chair. He is professional member of both ACDA and MENC.
